As a master of cross-border projects, Jason Moran has made a name for himself. He combines jazz with visual and performance arts, serving as a curator for exhibitions. In his music, he traverses the history of jazz from swing to hip-hop, shedding light on it from ever-changing perspectives.
Again and again, he deals with the jazz tradition, dedicating highly original, partly multimedia projects to the legends James Reese Europe, James P. Johnson, Fats Waller and Thelonious Monk.
