Jonas Olsson

The Swedish pianist Jonas Olsson has established himself as one of the boldest pianists in the Scandinavian contemporary music scene. His repertoire includes a wide selection of works by the most significant composers of the late 20th century.

He received important influences through his studies with Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne and his intensive collaboration with Pierre Boulez as a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy between 2006 and 2009. There, he took on several major solo parts, including Boulez’s sur Incises and Répons, as well as Messiaen’s Des canyons aux étoiles.

Since then, Jonas Olsson has been in demand as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe and worldwide. He has showcased his skills multiple times at the Lucerne Festival. In addition to his two permanent contemporary music ensembles in Gothenburg and Mimitabu, he is also a welcomed guest in other European ensembles.
