The Ruhr Piano Festival 2021 ended with a celebrated performance of the inter-school dance and music project “La Création du monde”. In the new production, around one hundred children and young people from four different schools, under the direction of Yasha Wang, Vassos Nicolaou and other artists, explore one of Igor Stravinsky’s most fascinating pieces, “The Soldier’s Tale”. In equal collaboration, they create a joint work with dance, music and stage design. They share the stage with a young ensemble led by Lorenzo Soulès, winner of the prestigious Geneva Music Competition.

Lorenzo Soulès

The French pianist Lorenzo Soulès was born in Lyon within a family of musicians and started the piano at the early age of three. Aged 9, he entered the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris CRR in the class of Olivier Gardon, before continuing his studies with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Tamara Stefanovich at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where he graduated with distinction. Between 2006 and 2009, he took lessons with Alicia de Larrocha with whom he worked on the complete Iberia cycle by Albeniz.
