Jeremy Denk is regarded as one of the most significant pianists in the United States. The New York Times described him as “a pianist you want to hear, no matter what he plays.” Denk is also a New York Times bestselling author, a recipient of the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship and the Avery Fisher Prize, as well as a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
He has frequently performed at Carnegie Hall and, in recent years, collaborated with orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and San Francisco Symphony. At the same time, he has appeared multiple times at the BBC Proms and the Piano Festival Ruhr, and has played in renowned venues such as the Cologne Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Boulez Saal in Berlin.
Denk is also known for his original and profound writings on music, which Alex Ross praised for their “captivating sensitivity and wit.” His New York Times bestselling memoir, “Every Good Boy Does Fine,” was published by Random House in 2022 and received widespread acclaim. His latest album featuring Mozart piano concertos was described by BBC Radio 3 as “important and essential,” while his recording of the Goldberg Variations reached number one on the Billboard classical charts.
